Esther Alcindor

Esther Alcindor is Associate Professor and Chair of Early and Elementary Education in Liberty University's School of Education. Holding a doctorate from Regent University, her career includes K-12 teaching experience where she developed PETAL (Promoting Excellence Through Accelerating Learning) to increase minority participation in advanced mathematics and received Teacher of the Year recognition.

Her research focuses on mathematics pedagogy with emphasis on reducing math anxiety, improving teacher preparation, and implementing education technologies. She investigates international teaching placements and interventions affecting preservice teacher efficacy.
