Erkan Servet serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Medicine since 2021, with clinical expertise spanning hand surgery, joint preservation, and trauma management. His academic foundation includes medical licensure from Istanbul University's Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine (1997-2004) and orthopedic specialization at Yeditepe University (2006-2011).
His research portfolio demonstrates deep engagement with translational orthopedics:
- Hand surgery innovations addressing trigger finger, compartment syndrome, and replantation outcomes
- Biologics development for knee osteoarthritis (PRP/HA) and tissue engineering scaffolds
- Experimental nerve regeneration studies and tendon repair complications
- Clinical trials in DVT prophylaxis for hip surgeries
Publication analysis reveals consistent focus on surgical complications and regenerative approaches since 2008, with seven SCI-indexed articles demonstrating methodological diversity from rat nerve models to clinical outcome studies. His work bridges experimental biomaterials research with immediate clinical applications in trauma and degenerative conditions.
Dr. Servet actively supervises postgraduate research, currently guiding Selim Degnek's 2024 thesis on avascular necrosis in hip dysplasia. His industry collaborations include three major Save Hip clinical trials investigating anticoagulation protocols. Professional engagement spans the Association of Bone and Joint Surgery, TOTBID, and Turkish Medical Association since 2004.
