Erin Shea McCann is the Associate Director at CPD and a Part-Time Lecturer at the University of Washington School of Law. She specializes in legal advocacy for youth and systemic policy reform. Her roles include leadership in nonprofit organizations like Legal Counsel for Youth and Children (LCYC), where she focused on legislative advocacy to protect vulnerable children. She also owned a consulting firm advising nonprofits and government agencies on behalf of children and families.
- Education: B.A. in Communication (Journalism) and Political Science from University of Washington; J.D., cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law.
Her research interests center on advancing legal rights for foster children, legislative policy impacting youth, and systemic advocacy frameworks. She has contributed to landmark foster care reform litigation and trained law students in legislative advocacy techniques. Erin’s work bridges academia, public policy, and grassroots advocacy.
