Erin Martinez

Dr. Erin Martinez is an Associate Professor and Extension Specialist at Kansas State University's School of Human Sciences, part of the College of Health and Human Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Family Sciences and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Kentucky, as well as a B.S. in Youth, Adult and Family Services from Purdue University. Certified as a Family Life Educator (CFLE), her work focuses on promoting health and well-being across the lifespan, particularly in aging populations.

Her research emphasizes program evaluation, policy/systems changes impacting social determinants of health, and sexual wellness among older adults, including those in long-term care. She has been recognized as a University Civic Engagement Fellow and a National Extension Foundation Fellow in Health and Wellness. Dr. Martinez currently serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Extension.

Her professional contributions include leading initiatives through K-State Extension, such as the Divorce Education Assessment Collaborative and program certification services. She actively engages in outreach to address brain health, advance healthcare planning, and other aging-related topics.
