Ericka S. Weathers is an Assistant Professor in the Policy, Organizations, Leadership, and Systems Division at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Her research investigates racial and socioeconomic inequality in K–12 education, focusing on
- mechanisms underlying disparities
- impact of education policies on student outcomes
- institutional responses to truancy and school segregation
Her work is funded by the Russell Sage Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Pennsylvania Department of Education. Key contributions include analyzing special education decision points and advocating for equitable school funding formulas.
Scientific awards include:
- 2021 Spencer Foundation/National Academy of Education Postdoctoral Fellow
- William T. Grant Scholars Class of 2030 (2025)
