Amy Hsin is a Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology at Queens College, City University of New York (CUNY). She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from UCLA and degrees in Economics from New York University. Her research focuses on immigration, social inequality, education policy, and Asian American studies, with a particular emphasis on undocumented youth and policy impacts.
Dr. Hsin’s work has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, the William T. Grant Foundation, and the Russell Sage Foundation. Her forthcoming book, analyzing undocumented young adults in NYC, explores ethnic and socioeconomic diversity, immigration policies, and their effects on education trajectories and life aspirations. She has been featured in major media outlets like the New York Times and NPR.
