Dr. Erica Neidlinger serves as Associate Professor and conductor of the Wind Symphony at DePaul University's School of Music, teaching conducting, wind history and repertoire, and instrumental music education courses. An active conductor with international experience, she has performed across the United States and Europe while serving as clinician and adjudicator in Singapore, Canada, and Latvia.
Her educational credentials include:
- BME from University of Kansas
- MME from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
- PhD from University of Minnesota under Professor Craig Kirchhoff
Dr. Neidlinger's scholarly focus centers on wind conducting pedagogy and historical wind repertoire, demonstrated through presentations at premier conferences including the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles in Killarney, Ireland, and the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic. Her work bridges performance practice with music education theory through international collaborations and honor band leadership.
Prior academic appointments include Assistant Director of Bands at University of Nebraska at Omaha (conducting concert ensembles and directing marching band) and faculty positions at The Ohio State University where she contributed to band and music education programs.
