Erica Gruen is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business and the Steinhardt School of Education at New York University, where she teaches in the areas of entertainment, media industries, and entrepreneurship. She joined NYU Stern in 2018 and brings decades of executive experience in media and digital innovation.

Her expertise lies at the intersection of media, technology, and business innovation. She is a pioneer in digital media and branded content, having founded Saatchi & Saatchi Interactive and led The Food Network as President/CEO. Her research and teaching focus on media and entertainment industries, entrepreneurship, and digital brand strategy, with applications in ed tech, food tech, and green tech.
Professor Gruen has advised the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, mentors in TechStars programs, and serves as Senior Advisor to Oaklins Desilva+Phillips in TMT. She is also a trustee of the James Beard Foundation, which hosts the 'culinary Oscars'.
