Eric May is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Western Australia (UWA), holding the Chevron Chair in Gas Process Engineering since 2009. He is also the CEO of the Future Energy Exports Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) and has held roles such as ARC Future Fellow (2018–2022) and Visiting International Professor at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (2015–2018). His research focuses on LNG production, flow assurance, carbon capture, and gas processing, with a strong industry collaboration focus. He co-founded Gas Capture Technologies Pty Ltd in 2017 and secured over $100M in research funding since 2006. Notable achievements include the $78M Future Energy Exports CRC grant (2020) and WA Scientist of the Year (2021).

Research Interests: Eric’s work addresses energy sustainability challenges, including LNG production optimization, hydrate management, and CO₂ sequestration. His group develops innovative technologies like methane capture systems and cryogenic fluid property prediction models. Recent projects include hydrogen liquefaction and CCS integration, contributing to UN SDGs like Affordable and Clean Energy (#7) and Industry Innovation (#9).
