Peter Metaxas

Dr. Peter Metaxas is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia's School of Engineering (Chemical Engineering Department). His research focuses on gas hydrates, LNG technology, spintronics, and magnetic nanostructures, with contributions to cryogenic processes and biosensing. He holds a BSc (Hons) and a joint PhD from UWA and Université Paris-Sud.

Education:

• BSc (Honours) in Physics, University of Western Australia, 2000s
• Joint PhD in Physics from UWA and Université Paris-Sud, France, early 2010s

Research Interests: Experimental and computational studies of gas hydrate formation kinetics, cryogenic solid formation, and advanced magnetic sensors for biological applications. His work intersects energy systems, materials science, and sustainable technologies, particularly for LNG processing and hydrogen storage.

Labs/Teams: A key member of the Fluid Science & Resources group at UWA, collaborating on LNG and gas hydrate projects. Previously led research at UWA's Department of Physics and Astrophysics, and worked in France/USA labs.
