Dr. Eric Mann is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Hope College. He joined Hope College in 2013, focusing on developing elementary teachers who appreciate the beauty and creativity in mathematics. His career includes military service as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force with NASA involvement, followed by seven years of elementary/middle school teaching and academic roles at Purdue University's College of Education.

Dr. Mann's research centers on improving mathematical content delivery, transforming negative mathematical dispositions, and promoting integrated STEM education with emphasis on critical and creative thinking in elementary grades. He specializes in pedagogical content knowledge for elementary mathematics, creativity assessment in STEM disciplines, and education of gifted and talented children across diverse backgrounds.
His publications include works on engineering integration in K-6 curriculum, creativity in mathematical problem-solving, and interdisciplinary approaches to STEM education. Current trends in his research explore affective factors in creativity, problem-posing strategies, and talent development frameworks.
