Eric J. Griffin is the Janice B. Trimble Endowed Chair in English and Professor of English at Millsaps College. His research focuses on Shakespeare, Anglo-Spanish literary relations, and colonial Americas studies. He has been involved with the Millsaps Yucatan Program for 20 years.
Education: BA from Pomona College, MA and PhD from University of Iowa. Awards include the D.C. Spriestersbach Prize and Distinguished Professor Award.
Teaching emphasizes Shakespeare, literary theory, and transhistorical connections between Old and New Worlds. Recent publications explore translingual pedagogy and comparative early modern literature. Active in interdisciplinary scholarship blending cultural history with colonial studies.
