Eric Hoernemann is an Instructor and MSLOC Coach at Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy (SESP), where he joined the faculty in 2018. He advises and coaches students in the MS in Learning and Organizational Change program. Prior to his academic role, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 21 years, retiring as a Commander in 2017. His military roles included Commanding Officer of the USCGC Katmai Bay, Executive Officer of the USCGC Mackinaw, and leadership in Coast Guard training programs. Post-retirement, he transitioned to corporate roles, leading talent programs at W.W. Grainger and currently overseeing talent initiatives at Elevance Health, managing 24,000 associates. His expertise spans leadership development, team effectiveness, and executive coaching.
