معرفی
Professor Erengul Dodd is a Professor of Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Southampton, affiliated with the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Her research focuses on actuarial science, demography, Bayesian statistics, and mortality modeling, with applications to public health and healthcare systems. She currently supervises three PhD students in Mathematical Sciences and holds an external role as Chair at The Alan Turing Institute (2021-2023).
Her work integrates advanced statistical methods with demographic and actuarial challenges, addressing topics such as cancer mortality disparities, fertility projections, and socioeconomic health inequalities. Recent studies include analyzing pandemic impacts on breast cancer mortality and developing Bayesian models for fertility forecasting. She combines individual-level data with population trends to improve demographic predictions and policy recommendations.
Her publications span journals like Annals of Actuarial Science, Scandinavian Actuarial Journal, and Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to mortality, health, and demographic research. Supervision of PhD students and external leadership roles highlight her commitment to advancing both academic research and practical applications in these fields.
