Enda Hannon is a Senior Lecturer in Employment Relations and Employment Law at the Department of Management, Kingston Business School, within the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at Kingston University. He joined the university in 2004 after completing his PhD at Warwick Business School and prior work as a research and teaching assistant at University College Dublin.
His research focuses on the political economy of employment and skills, particularly in liberal market economies like the UK. He examines the role of state industrial strategy in fostering high-quality jobs and engages with debates on 'varieties of capitalism.' Collaborating with institutions like Dublin City University, he has conducted ESRC-funded comparative studies on employment dynamics in the pharmaceutical and software sectors of the UK and Ireland.
Enda holds advanced qualifications including a PhD in Industrial & Business Studies, an MSc in Economics, a PgDip in Learning & Teaching in Higher Education, and a Law degree (LLB). His work has been published in journals such as the Industrial Relations Journal, International Journal of Human Resource Management, and Work, Employment and Society.
His research explores the interplay between industrial policies and employment outcomes, emphasizing knowledge-intensive firms and HRM practices. He actively contributes to discussions on enhancing job quality through strategic policy interventions.
