Valentina Paolucci is an Assistant Professor in Management, Organizational Behavior, and Human Resource Management at Maynooth University's Faculty of Social Sciences (School of Business). Previously, she held an Assistant Professor position in Employment Relations at University College Dublin (2017–2021). Her research focuses on collective bargaining, trade union revitalization, and labour market flexibility in multinational organizations across EU countries, including Ireland, Italy, Denmark, and the UK. She leads the CODEBAR project (2020–2022), examining decentralized collective bargaining dynamics in eight EU states. Dr. Paolucci earned her PhD in Comparative Employment Relations from Warwick Business School and holds advanced degrees from the University of Bologna and UCD.
Education: PhD (Warwick Business School), MSc HRM (UCD), MA/BA (University of Bologna).
Research Interests: Comparative labour policies, transformation of work, HRM in multinationals, contextual factors shaping employment policies, and union strategies in decentralized bargaining systems. Her work emphasizes how institutional frameworks and global competition influence local HR decisions and worker conditions.
Awards: SAGE Best Paper Prize (2016), MERC Partners Award (2011), and Cum Laude MA (2009).
Teaching: Coordinates the undergraduate module Negotiation and Dispute Resolution (MN317). Active in comparative employee relations and HRM education.
Key Collaborations: Co-PI with Aurora Trif on union strategies research and mentorship under William K. Roche in EU-funded projects.
