Emma Milliss is a Lecturer at the Department of Health Sciences, Macquarie University, and a researcher at the Global Indigenous Futures Research Centre. She is affiliated with the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW) as an HDR Candidate since 2024, and serves on the Executive Council of the Aboriginal Womens Advisory Network (Target 13) since 2023.
Her research focuses on Indigenous health, cultural safety in education, and the intersection of technology with colonial violence. Recent work includes advancing equity accreditation in medical education and analyzing tech abuse as a continuation of colonial oppression.
Her publications highlight collaborations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous scholars, emphasizing systemic change in healthcare and education. In 2018, she received the Swinburne Indigenous Online Success Award for excellence in digital learning. She also advocates for mental health and community resilience as an Ambassador for SoldierOn since 2015.
