Professor Emma Jeanes is an Associate Professor at the Exeter Business School, University of Exeter, with expertise in organizational behavior and gender inclusivity. She previously held positions at Cardiff University and Lund University, Sweden (2011-2012).
- Education: PhD, Dipl (SocSciResMeths), BSc (Econ and Management) from Cardiff University; MA (Political Theory) from Exeter.
Emma’s research focuses on gender, discrimination, and inclusivity in the workplace, adopting historical, sociological, and philosophical approaches. She explores affect in the workplace and inclusivity practices, with prior work on public services (NHS, housing associations), SMEs, and rural employment contexts.
She has received funding from the ESRC, Housing Corporation, Handelsbanken Foundation, ERDF, British Academy, GW4, and Defra. Her editorial roles include Associate Editor for Gender, Work and Organization and co-editorship of the Wiley Handbook in Gender, Work and Organization (2011) and Men, Wage Work and Family (2012).
- Scientific Awards: LTHE Accreditation (2002).
Emma leads Athena Swan initiatives at her school, chairs committees, and contributes to the University's Gender Pay Gap Committee. She supervises PhD and Masters students in organizational behavior and gender studies.
