Emma Davies

Dr. Emma Davies is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Law & Criminology, Royal Docks School of Business and Law, University of East London. Her research bridges children's rights, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and trauma-informed practices in higher education. She leads the Beyond Adversity Project, focusing on integrating trauma-informed approaches into academic environments.

Her work emphasizes the intersection of research, policy, and practice, informed by her prior roles as a Principal Policy Analyst in New Zealand’s Ministry of Social Development and Australia’s Department of Health and Human Services. As a trained mediator and coach, she advocates for systemic support structures for students with trauma histories.

Recent publications analyze ACEs, anxiety, and quality of life among university students, employing quantitative methods like latent class analysis. These studies highlight the need for trauma-informed policies in higher education institutions.
