Emily Hines

Dr. Emily Hines is a Professor of Reading and Certificate Advisor at the College of Arts & Human Sciences, University of Wisconsin-Stout. She coordinates graduate reading programs and focuses on Reading Teacher and Reading Specialist licensure.

• Education: Ed.D. in Educational Leadership (University of St. Thomas), M.S.T. in Reading (University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire), B.A. in Elementary Education (University of Iowa)

Research Interests: Emily's work centers on the intersection of literacy and diversity, emphasizing their interdependence. She actively engages in cultural competence development and anti-racism efforts across PK-16 education systems, as well as local and global communities.

Professional Affiliation: She holds Wisconsin Teaching Licenses in Reading Teacher (#316), Reading Specialist (#17), English (#1300), and Elementary/Middle Level Education (#1088).
