Amanda Schmidt serves as a Lecturer in the Biology Department within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Her educational background includes:
- BS Degree in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
- MS Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Wisconsin-Stout
- BS Degree in Family and Consumer Science Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout
With over two decades of experience as a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) since 2000, Schmidt has worked across diverse healthcare settings including WIC and public health clinics, wellness corporations, hospice and home health, inpatient hospitals, and long-term care facilities. Her professional expertise spans clinical nutrition, public health nutrition, and community dietetics.
Outside of her academic role, Schmidt is actively engaged in her Eau Claire community, volunteering with sports organizations to plan tournaments and athletic events. She resides with her husband and three children, sharing a passion for outdoor activities such as kayaking and hiking, and enjoys reading and watching medical dramas.
