Dr Emily Hayday is a Senior Lecturer in Sport Business at Loughborough University's Institute for Sport Business within the School of Business and Economics. Her research examines the social impact of sport, with a focus on virtual environments (social media and esports) and legacy policy implementation from mega-events like the London 2012 Olympics.
- BSc in Sport Science and Coaching, University of Southampton
- PhD in Sport Management, University of Kent
Her academic work investigates both positive and negative practices in online sport spaces, leveraging her industry experience as former Head of Education at West Ham United Foundation. She currently serves as Programme Director for the MSc in Sport Business and Innovation and co-leads Loughborough London’s Family Fun Day.
Dr Hayday teaches courses in sports marketing, research methods, sport sponsorship, and data analytics, while also providing pastoral care and program management for sport business students.
