Emily Chan is the Vice President & Dean of the Faculty and Professor of Psychology at Colorado College. She joined the faculty in 2004 and has held roles including Associate Dean of Academic Programs (2014–2018) and Director of the Bridge Scholars Program. Her academic focus spans Social Psychology, Cultural Psychology, and Prejudice Studies. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (2002) and an A.B. from Princeton University (1997).
Her research emphasizes cross-cultural dynamics, decision-making, and educational equity. Notable initiatives include strategic planning for inclusive undergraduate research pipelines and leadership in programs addressing diversity in higher education. Chan’s work bridges academic research with institutional policy, advocating for systemic support for underrepresented students.
She has presented widely on topics like anti-Asian racism, cultural cognition, and academic inclusion. Her publications span journals such as Journal of Experimental Social Psychology and Frontiers in Psychology, with a focus on translating research into actionable strategies for equitable education.
