Emiliano Bevilacqua is an Associate Professor of General Sociology (SPS/07) at the University of Salento, affiliated with the Department of Human and Social Sciences. He teaches courses including Institutions of Sociology, Sociological Foundations of Medical and Health Sciences, and Sociology and Social Research Methodology. His expertise lies in social theory, inequality, globalization, environmental sociology, and sociological analysis of law and democracy.
He has conducted research on work, social policies, and political sociology, participating in projects like the PRIN initiative on independent living rights. He has authored/co-authored books such as Love and Sexuality in Social Science and edited volumes on class analysis and Bauman’s theories.
Bevilacqua serves as Vice President of the Sociology Degree Course, CIDAS board member, and part of the Doctoral Teaching Board in Human and Social Sciences. His research interests include modernity, authoritarianism, and sociological critiques of capitalism.
