Emilia König

Emilia König is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Helsinki, working within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Production Animal Medicine. She is affiliated with the Helsinki One Health (HOH) Research Centre for Animal Welfare, focusing on veterinary science and animal welfare research, particularly in pig production systems.

Her recent publications (2024-2025) show a strong focus on porcine microbiome research, with several papers examining bacterial profiles in different pig tissues and their relationship to health outcomes.
