Emanuela Stagno is an Associate Professor in Marketing at the University of Sussex Business School, specializing in consumer behavior and technology interactions. She joined Sussex in 2021 as an Assistant Professor, advancing to her current rank in October 2024. Her research focuses on consumer vulnerability, AI applications in public contexts, physical pain management, and well-being. She holds a PhD in Marketing from BI Norwegian Business School (2017–2021) and a Master in Management from LUISS Guido Carli, Italy (2013–2015).
Her academic work combines quantitative and qualitative methods, with notable publications in International Journal of Research in Marketing, Social Science and Medicine, and co-authored books on AI in customer journeys. She has received grants such as the British Academy-funded 'Message framing in plant-based consumption' (2022–2024).
Awards include the 2024 Best Paper Award (IJRM) and 2020 AMA-Sheth Doctoral Consortium Fellowship. She teaches courses in Marketing Analytics, Global Consumer Behavior, and Brand Management. Fluent in Italian and English, she holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (Advance HE, 2022).
Her research explores AI ethics, consumer responses to health technologies, and the societal impact of emerging technologies, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to modern marketing challenges.
