Ema Sullivan-Bissett is a Reader in Philosophy at the University of Birmingham's Department of Philosophy, focusing on the philosophy of mind and psychology. She completed her BA, MA, and PhD at the University of York.

Her research explores belief and its connection to truth, monothematic delusions, implicit bias, and biological approaches to normative questions in epistemology. She supervises PhD students in delusion formation and implicit bias and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate modules including Logic Through Language, Epistemology, and Fantastic Beasts and How to Understand Them.
Recent publications address evolutionary pressures on belief capacities, the ontology of belief, and the epistemology of delusions. She has contributed to debates on conspiracy beliefs, religious attitudes, and implicit bias in aesthetic judgment. Her work combines analytic philosophy with empirical findings from psychology and neuroscience.
She is involved in research teams examining the intersection of cognitive science and philosophical theory. Her lab focuses on belief formation, delusional cognition, and the impact of implicit biases on social epistemology.
