His work challenges conventional theories of misinformation by examining how institutional distrust and political identities shape belief systems. Research integrates philosophy of mind with cognitive science to analyze partisan reasoning and social adaptation of beliefs.
Recent publications analyze epistemic irrationality through Bayesian models of cognition, exploring how predictive processing frameworks explain delusions and partisan reasoning. His interdisciplinary approach connects philosophical analysis with psychological evidence on motivated cognition.
He serves on advisory bodies including the International Science Council's expert panel for 'The Public Value of Science', contributing to policy reports on science communication and institutional trust.
Williams teaches courses on logic, political epistemology, and philosophy of artificial intelligence, mentoring students on belief dynamics in digital environments.
