Elvia Maria Letizia Giudice is an Associate Professor of Classical Archaeology at the Department of Humanities, University of Catania, Italy. She has been a permanent researcher in Greek and Roman Archaeology since 2005 and obtained national qualification as Associate Professor in 2018. She is the scientific director of the Ceramographic Archive of the University of Catania and leads excavations at the Hellenistic sanctuary of Apollo at Toumballos and the early Christian basilica in Nea Paphos, Cyprus, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE). She teaches Classical Ceramography and Archaeology and History of Greek and Roman Art at the Master's level.
Her research centers on three main areas: (1) iconographic and iconological analysis of Greek and Roman ceramic and sculptural art, extending to Etruscan contexts; (2) critical editions of Attic black- and red-figure vases, as well as Magna Graecia and Siceliot ceramics, with detailed stylistic, iconographic, and chronological analyses; and (3) excavation and typological study of Hellenistic-Roman structures and sealed pottery from the eastern Mediterranean and western Africa found at Toumballos. She collaborates with the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria on the Heraion of Croton exhibition and catalog.
She is a member of several scientific committees, including the editorial series 'Corpus delle stipi votive', 'Studi Miscellanei di Ceramografia greca', and 'Paphia. Collana di studi della Missione Archeologica Italiana a Nea Paphos'. She is also a member of the Archaeological Institute of America (Pottery Section) and the Archaeomusicology Interest Group (AMIG). Her research has been supported by the FAABR grant (ANVUR, 2017) and the prestigious Trendall Fellowship (University of Melbourne, 2020).

She supervises Master’s theses on topics such as Homeric poetry in black-figure iconography, divine music in Greek art, and the Adonias. She has directed major research projects including the PIACERI 2020-2021 initiative 'From object to text' and serves as Principal Investigator for the 'Paphos, Garrison’s Camp' excavation project. She maintains active collaborations with the Jatta Museum in Ruvo di Puglia and the Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria for the study of Attic vases and post-Beazley fragments from Locri Epizefiri, respectively.
Her research lab and team include the Ceramographic Archive of the University of Catania, the Italian Archaeological Mission at Nea Paphos, and multidisciplinary groups involved in cultural heritage valorization projects such as PIACERI.
