Elson Bihm is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). He earned his PhD in counseling psychology from Texas Tech University in 1982. His research focuses on improving environments for marginalized groups through prevention science (e.g., Social Emotional Learning), Stimulus Preference Assessment (SPA), and pragmatism philosophy. He received the 1995 UCA Research Award for work with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Current projects include bullying prevention (NIH-funded, 2013) and collaborations with Dr. Femina Varghese (juvenile offenders) and Dr. Tanya Jeffcoat (pragmatism).
