Elsa Daniela Ibanez Prada is a Research Fellow at Monash University's Department of General Practice, contributing to the CREATE project. She holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Research from Monash University and is a Medical Doctor specializing in Infectious Diseases and Critical Care Medicine from Colombia. She has served as Research Studies Coordinator and Research Medical Doctor at Universidad de La Sabana (2022–2024). Her work focuses on translational research in medical education and practice, leveraging qualitative and quantitative methods.
Key research areas include infectious diseases, antibiotic efficacy in critical care, pandemic responses, and low-resource medical innovation. She has collaborated with institutions such as the University of Oxford’s Pandemic Sciences Institute and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington. Recognized by the Colombian Government as a Young Research Investigator, her contributions align with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.
Notable projects include developing low-cost ventilators during the pandemic and analyzing carbapenemase-resistant bacteria in Colombia. Her work emphasizes global health equity and evidence-based medical interventions.
