Benjamin Rogers

Professor Benjamin Rogers is an Associate Professor (Research) at Monash University’s School of Clinical Sciences and a clinical researcher at Monash Health. His roles include leading the Monash Infectious Diseases clinical research service and serving as Clinical Lead for the Monash Hospital-in-the-Home program. He holds adjunct appointments and has expertise in antimicrobial resistance, OPAT, and clinical trials, particularly in infectious diseases and post-COVID-19 care.

Education:

Research Interests:

• Antimicrobial resistance mechanisms and clinical management
• Optimization of outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT)
• Clinical trials for infectious diseases, including those involving new antifungal agents and antibiotic durations
• Epidemiology of Escherichia coli and other pathogens
• Improving hospital-in-the-home programs for cardiovascular and liver diseases

• Leading Phase 3 trials for novel antifungal treatments (e.g., Olorofim)
• Optimizing prosthetic heart valve surfaces to prevent infective endocarditis
• Designing wearable antibiotic delivery systems (e.g., CryoCare)
• Evaluating LivR Well, a home-based liver optimization program
