Ellen Yee is a Professor of Law and Director of International Programs at Drake Law School, Drake University. She specializes in Criminal Law, Evidence, Professional Responsibility, Psychiatry and the Law, and Trial Advocacy. Holding a JD from the University of Minnesota (Minnesota Law Review) and a BA from Yale University (cum laude), she has contributed significantly to legal scholarship and international academic engagement.
Her research focuses on criminal procedure, evidence law, and legal ethics. Notable works include analyses of the Confrontation Clause, hearsay evidence, and lawyer advertising regulations. She has presented globally on topics such as juvenile sentencing, intercultural negotiations, and comparative penal law.
Yee received the Inaugural Principal Financial Group Global Citizenship Award (2015). Her professional experience includes service as a Deputy District Attorney in California and Visiting Assistant Professor at Florida State University College of Law. She has also served as a judicial extern for the U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota.
