Ellen Gee

Ellen Gee was a Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Simon Fraser University (SFU) until her death in 2002. She held the role of Associate Dean in the Dean of Arts office for four years. Her research focused on Canadian demography, aging, family structures, and social policy. She significantly influenced First Nations programs and gerontology at SFU.

Her legacy is honored via the Dr. Ellen Gee Memorial Endowment Fund, established in 2002, which supports graduate scholarships for students researching family, gender, ethnicity, aging, health, or social policy. Her contributions to academic leadership and scholarship left a lasting impact on the university and her disciplines.
