Ella Spuriņa is a researcher and doctoral student at Riga Technical University (RTU), affiliated with the Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. She is a core member of the 3D Concrete Printing Scientific Laboratory team, focusing on advancing construction materials and techniques through 3D printing technology. Her doctoral research centers on optimizing concrete mix design for 3D printing, evaluating material properties in fresh and hardened states, and assessing long-term durability.
Educationally, she holds a Mg. sc. ing (Master of Science in Engineering) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Civil Engineering at RTU. Her work aligns with RTU’s broader efforts in sustainable building materials and high-performance structures.
Over three years of scientific contributions, she has authored five peer-reviewed publications indexed in international databases, reflecting her active engagement in advancing additive manufacturing applications in civil engineering. Her research bridges theoretical material science with practical construction challenges, emphasizing innovation in both material formulation and experimental validation.
Labs/Teams: She collaborates within the 3D Concrete Printing Team under the Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, alongside senior researchers like Māris Šinka and Alise Sapata. Her role involves both foundational research and applied testing, contributing to RTU’s interdisciplinary approach to modern construction technologies.
