Ella Chorazy

Ella Chorazy is a Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), affiliated with the Digital Media Research Centre and the School of Communication within the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education & Social Justice. She holds a PhD from QUT and has held positions including Lecturer in Communication at RMIT University (2018-2024) and Sessional Academic at QUT. Her research focuses on political communication, public relations, media studies, and popular culture, particularly examining dark political communication, ethical practices, and industry representation.

Educated at QUT, she earned double undergraduate degrees with distinction and a First Class Honours, followed by a PhD. She has received prestigious awards including the QUT Medal and multiple scholarships. Her teaching spans 14 years at tertiary level, specializing in political communication, professional communication, and project management. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AdvanceHE) and maintains industry connections through memberships in CPRA, ICA, and AANZCA.

Her recent publications explore marketing ethics, media representation of PR professions, and digital communication strategies. Notable work includes contributions to Beyond the Dark Arts (2023) and analyses of public relations ethics (2022). Ella actively participates in cross-institutional collaborations and advisory roles, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to communication challenges. She currently supervises postgraduate research students in Honours, Masters, and PhD programs.
