Angela Romano

Dr. Angela Romano is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), affiliated with the School of Communication within the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education & Social Justice. Her academic roles include Research Ethics Advisor for QUT's Digital Media Research Centre and Vice President (Networks) of the Journalism Education Association of Australia. She holds a PhD from QUT, alongside a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and a BBus (Honours) from the same institution.

Her research focuses on journalism quality, regulation, political function, and innovative philosophies like public journalism. Key areas include media in Australia, the UK, US, Indonesia, and East Timor. Notable works include the award-winning radio project *New Horizons, New Homes* (2005 Media Peace Awards) and the ACICIS Journalism Professional Practicum, fostering Indonesian-Australian journalism exchanges.

Romano’s publications span media accountability, development journalism, and gender representation. She has contributed to international projects such as the Global Media Monitoring Project and the Senate Select Committee on Public Interest Journalism. Her teaching covers international journalism, ethics, and reporting methodologies.
