Prof. Dr. Elke Kronewald is a Professor at Kiel University of Applied Sciences, teaching Public Relations and Corporate Communication (BA), Applied Communication Science (MA), and the part-time PR Master's program. She serves as honorary chairwoman of the German Council for Public Relations (DRPR), overseeing voluntary self-regulation in the PR profession.
Her research focuses on:
- PR ethics and AI implementation challenges
- Crisis and issues management
- Compliance and internal communication
- Media resonance analysis and reputation studies
- Empirical methods in social research
Kronewald's recent work (2023-2025) reveals a pronounced shift toward examining AI's ethical implications in PR practice, with 8 publications and 12 major conference presentations on AI ethics frameworks, crisis communication in digital environments, and compliance strategies. Her research demonstrates consistent methodological rigor through content analysis of social media and organizational communication.
She actively shapes industry standards through DRPR leadership and has delivered keynote addresses at major events including PR Report Camp Berlin (2024), KI-X Kommunikation (2024), and the Big Bang KI Festival (2024), where she advocates for ethical AI adoption in communication workflows.
