Elizabeth Wolfe Morrison is a Professor in the Department of Management and Organizations at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University, where she also holds the ITT Harold Geneen Professorship in Creative Management. She currently serves as Vice Dean of Executive Programs and previously served as Vice Dean of Faculty from 2012 to 2018.
Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Psychology from Brown University.
Professor Morrison’s research focuses on proactive work behaviors, employee voice and silence, and the organizational conditions that foster open communication and leadership effectiveness. She investigates how employees’ willingness to speak up impacts career outcomes and organizational performance. Her work bridges organizational behavior, psychology, and management theory.
Her recent publications reflect a strong trend in understanding voice behavior, feedback dynamics, and power structures in organizations. The articles span elite journals such as Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Annual Review of Organizational Psychology, highlighting sustained scholarly impact in organizational psychology and behavior.
She has received numerous accolades, including:

Professor Morrison has served as Associate Editor for Academy of Management Journal (2007–2010) and Academy of Management Annals (2019–2022), and was on the Executive Committee of the OB Division of the Academy of Management (2008–2013). She teaches courses in Leadership and Negotiation. Her research has been supported by grants from Citigroup, National Science Foundation, and Northwestern University. She is actively involved in shaping organizational culture and leadership development through both academic and executive education programs.
