Elizabeth Roepke is an Assistant Professor in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at Saint Louis University’s Doisy College of Health Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University and advanced degrees in Communication Sciences and Classics from Appalachian State University and the University of Edinburgh. Her research focuses on speech sound disorders in preschoolers, phonological processing-literacy links, cross-linguistic phonological analysis, and intervention practices. Dr. Roepke has received numerous awards including the 2023 AARC Award and SLU’s Core Curricular Innovation Fellowship.

She has published extensively in journals like Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research and Advances in Methods and Practices in Psychological Science.
Grants include $5000 from the AARC Award (2023) and collaborative projects such as the SLP in China initiative with Peking University. Teaching responsibilities include courses on speech sound disorders, early childhood language, and multicultural assessment. She actively supervises student research projects, including studies on Latinx caregiver perspectives and transgender client intake forms.
