Saneta Thurmon is an Associate Professor and Undergraduate Program Director in the Department of Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences at Saint Louis University's Doisy College of Health Sciences. She holds dual certifications in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and Audiology (CCC-A). Her roles include academic leadership, curriculum development, clinical supervision, and student mentorship.
Education: PhD in Higher Education Administration (Saint Louis University), MA in Speech-Language Pathology (University of Tennessee), and BA in Communication Disorders (Middle Tennessee State University). She also holds audiology certifications from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Research Interests: Pedagogy and clinical simulation for novice SLPs, interprofessional collaboration between SLPs and audiologists, counseling for cochlear implant patients, and educational leadership. She has published in Missouri Speech-Language-Hearing Association journals and presented at national conferences.
Professional Contributions: Vice President of the Missouri Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA), ASHA Committee of Ambassadors, and advocate for legislative changes impacting audiologists (e.g., Medicare Audiologist Access Act).
