Elizabeth P. Parham is an Associate Professor of English and currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the School of Arts & Humanities at Barton College. She can be reached at epkiser@barton.edu.
Education:
- B.A., Gardner-Webb University (2003), with majors in Mass Communications and Public Relations, and a minor in English with a writing emphasis
- M.A., Clemson University (2005), specializing in Professional Communication
- Ph.D., East Carolina University (2014), in Rhetoric, Writing, and Professional Communication
Research Interests: Parham’s research focuses on online identity creation, rhetoric, writing studies, pedagogy, and the transfer of writing skills between educational levels. Her dissertation specifically investigated the relationship between high school AP English courses and first-year college writing programs, aiming to inform educators about the challenges in transferring writing skills and knowledge. She has presented her findings at conferences such as the College Composition and Communication Conference, the Carolina Rhetoric Conference, and the Computers and Writing Conference.
