Elizabeth Kimball is Associate Professor of English and Director of the University Writing Program at Drexel University. She earned her PhD in English (Rhetoric and Composition) from Temple University (2010), MA in English from Rutgers University-Camden (2003), and BA from Earlham College (1996). Her research focuses on rhetorical theory, multilingual practices, and community-based learning.
Kimball's book Translingual Inheritance: Language Diversity in Early National Philadelphia (2021) received Honorable Mentions from both the Conference on College Composition and Communication and Rhetoric Society of America. Her current project 'Humanities at Work' reimagines humanities in workplace contexts to foster inclusive democracy.
As Writing Program Director, she oversees the Drexel Writing Center, Writing Intensive courses, and faculty development in writing pedagogy. Her research explores how writing practices can drive social change in multilingual communities.
