Elizabeth Healey

Elizabeth Healey is an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Classics, Ancient History & Egyptology at the University of Manchester. Her research focuses on material culture in prehistoric contexts, with particular expertise in obsidian studies, Near Eastern archaeology, and ancient economic networks. She collaborates internationally on projects analyzing lithic technologies and material provenance.

Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to cultural preservation and sustainable resource management. Key research themes include Neolithic settlement patterns, technological innovation in early societies, and symbolic material use.

Dr Healey has co-organized interdisciplinary conferences such as 'Immersed in Lithics' (2016) and contributed datasets on obsidian artefacts via Figshare. Her recent publications explore Dorstone Hill's Neolithic landscapes, obsidian use in domestic contexts, and rock crystal symbolism in Early British Neolithic cultures.
