Nicholas Overton is an Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Classics, Ancient History & Egyptology at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on Neolithic and Mesolithic archaeology, particularly in the UK, with emphasis on human-nonhuman relationships, prehistoric material culture, and ceremonial landscapes. Overton holds a PhD from 2015 titled 'Memorable Meetings in the Mesolithic: Tracing the Biography of Human-Nonhuman Relationships in the Kennet and Colne Valleys with Social Zooarchaeology.'
His work examines sites like Dorstone Hill, exploring topics such as early Neolithic settlement patterns, ceremonial site use, and the symbolic role of materials like rock crystal.
