Dr. Jodie Lewis is an Associate Professor at the School of Archaeological & Forensic Sciences, University of Bradford. She joined in 2022 after previous positions at Bangor and Worcester universities. Educated at the University of Bristol (undergraduate to PhD), her expertise spans Mesolithic, Neolithic, and Bronze Age archaeology with specialized interest in ritual landscapes and funerary monuments.
Research examines prehistoric human interactions with karst environments (caves, gorges, sinkholes) and the relationship between natural features and ceremonial sites. Since 1997, she has directed fieldwork projects including excavations of causewayed enclosures, henges, stone circles, and barrows. Current leadership of the Priddy Environs Project investigates multi-period landscapes in Somerset's Mendip Hills to enhance archaeological understanding and community heritage engagement.
