معرفی
Mario Bodružić is a researcher at the Department of Archaeology, University of Zadar, specializing in prehistoric archaeology with a focus on Epigravettian communities in Northern Dalmatia. He has been employed since 2021 as part of the Epigravettian Communities of Northern Dalmatia (EpiC) project (IP-2019-04-6115) led by Dario Vujević, contributing to protective archaeological research in the region. His academic journey began with a double major in History and Archaeology at the University of Zadar, culminating in a Graduate Archaeologist degree in 2011.
His research spans three interconnected domains:
- Epigravettian Culture (c. 20,000-10,000 years ago), particularly in Northern Dalmatian islands like Ugljan
- Stone tool analysis (lithic technology) across prehistoric periods
- Genetic archaeology, evidenced by collaborations on ancient DNA studies of Neolithic and Bronze Age migrations
Notable publication trends reveal:
- Excavation reports on previously undocumented Upper Paleolithic sites
- Technical studies of lithic variability using experimental approaches
- Interdisciplinary work integrating archaeology with genetic analysis
- Geographic emphasis on Croatian coastal and island regions
