معرفی
Elizabeth Figueroa-Juarez is a Novo Nordisk Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine (IDRM), University of Oxford. She holds a PhD in metabolic and cardiovascular disease from the University of Cambridge, funded by a Wellcome Trust scholarship. Her research focuses on identifying human arterial enhancers and exploring transcriptional regulators in atherosclerosis.
Education:
- Bachelor's in Chemistry, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)
- MSc in Biomedicine (Distinction), National Autonomous University of Mexico
- MRes in Metabolic and Cardiovascular Disease, University of Cambridge
- PhD in Metabolic and Cardiovascular Disease, University of Cambridge
Research Interests: Her work integrates molecular biology and genetics to understand cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Key areas include arterial biology, epigenetic regulation, and translational medicine targeting atherosclerosis.
Awards: She has received the Charter Award from Homerton College (University of Cambridge) and the Carlos Fuentes Award.
Lab Affiliation: She is part of the Sarah De Val lab at IDRM, collaborating on projects supported by the Novo Nordisk-University of Oxford program.
