Elizabeth Ann Campbell is a Professor of History and Founding Director of the Center for Art Collection Ethics (ACE) at the University of Denver. She specializes in modern European and French history, particularly Nazi art looting, postwar restitution practices, and colonial cultural heritage disputes. Her research examines how museums ethically manage contested collections.

Research & Awards: Her work has been supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities and University of Denver grants. Key publications include Defending National Treasures: French Art and Heritage under Vichy (2011) and Museum Worthy: Nazi Art Plunder in Postwar Western Europe (2024). She directs ACE, promoting ethical collection stewardship through training programs.
Grants & Leadership: Spearheaded ACE since 2018. Advises on provenance research and restitution ethics. Active in Western Society for French History and American Historical Association.
