Eliza Richards is a Professor and Director of Graduate Studies/Admissions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She specializes in 19th-century American poetry, examining its intersections with media, culture, and history. Her work highlights marginalized voices and reinterprets canonical figures like Dickinson and Poe. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (1997) and has taught at UNC since joining in 2002.
